NEWBORN FAQs

FAQs

When is the best time for a new born photography session?

The best time for a newborn session is when your baby is between 7 and 12 days old, although sessions can be done up until they are 3 weeks old. During this period, newborns are generally sleepier and less alert, making it easier to pose them in adorable, curled-up positions. However, I can also photograph babies comfortably up to 6 weeks of age.

How long do newborn sessions take?

Newborn sessions typically last between 2-4 hours and are entirely baby-led. While this may seem like a long time, most of the session is devoted to feeding, soothing, and ensuring your baby is comfortable with plenty of cuddles. I will never rush newborn sessions.

When should i book my newborn session?

The best time to book is after your 20 week scan to guarantee your spot in the studio however don't worry if you were not able to do this, i may have last minute availability if a pre-booked baby has arrived early/late. Please do still get in touch.

Can siblings be included in the session?

Absolutely, we include siblings and family in the session at no extra charge. To ensure everyoneโ€™s comfort, we typically take sibling photos either during the first or last half-hour of the session, especially if the siblings are young. The studio is kept quite warm for the baby, which might make it uncomfortable for little ones to stay for the entire session. However, we understand this may not always be possible, and we are happy to adjust as needed to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Where will my session take place?

The session will take place at my home studio in East London.

What if my baby does not settle during the session?

I always book my session for early in the morning as this is when babies tend to be at their sleepiest. Newborns spend a lot of their time sleeping and it is extremely rare that they will be so unsettled that we cannot complete a session. In the unlikely event this happens we can reschedule the session at no extra charge.

Does the session fee include digital images?

No, i do not sell images that you have not seen yet. The session fee reserves your session time, shoot time, and private gallery viewing and ordering appointment. Digital files, albums and wall art are purchased after seeing your images.
